Elastomers

Synthetic and natural rubber grades from certified producers, warehoused in India and released against the compound room's schedule.

Typically 60 to 65 per cent of total compound weight. Everything else in the mix is measured against what the elastomer already does.

Elastomers are the backbone of a tyre compound, typically 60–65% of total compound weight. Polyplas supplies synthetic and natural rubber grades from producers like Zeon of Japan, warehoused in India and released against production schedules.

Polyplas supplies tyre-grade elastomers in India: Emulsion and Solution SBR, high-cis Polybutadiene Rubber including Nd-BR, and quality-assured Natural Rubber in SMR, TSR, ISNR and RSS grades. Material is imported from internationally certified producers, warehoused across six Indian cities, and delivered just in time to tyre plants.

The compound is a set of trade-offs.

A tread that grips gives up wear. One that rolls easily gives up grip. The blend is where a tyre maker decides what the tyre is for, and the elastomer ratio is how that decision gets written down.

No blend wins everything.

Grip, wear and rolling resistance pull against each other. Move the node and watch the ratio a compounder would have to specify to land there. Every one of them is a blend we can source.

Synthetic elastomer

Styrene Butadiene Rubber

The workhorse tread polymer. Two families, one supplier, warehoused in India.

SBR is the highest-volume synthetic elastomer in tyre manufacturing. Abrasion resistance is excellent, ageing behaviour is predictable, and the economics work at scale.

Polyplas carries both families. ESBR for general-purpose and cost-sensitive compounds. SSBR where the compound must deliver low rolling resistance and wet grip together, the tread chemistry behind fuel-efficient passenger tyres.

High-cis polymer

Polybutadiene Rubber

Chosen for resilience. Almost always blended, never the whole answer, never the omitted one.

BR earns its place in a compound through resilience. Heat build-up stays low, abrasion resistance exceeds NR and SBR alone, and low-temperature flexibility holds.

It is almost always blended, with SBR in tread, with NR in truck compounds. Polyplas supplies high-cis grades from leading international producers, including neodymium-catalysed BR for the most demanding specifications.

Natural polymer

Natural Rubber

In high-load compounds, nothing has replaced it. Tensile, tear and dynamic heat still favour the tree.

In high-load applications, nothing replaces NR. Tensile strength, tear resistance and low heat build-up under dynamic loading keep it the dominant elastomer in truck, bus and OTR compounds.
